We are shaping the digital future with our network.

As a network of computer scientists, we are committed to digitalisation that works for everyone. Our work is scientifically sound, we look for unifying solutions and always remain open to new ideas.

Together, our members from science, business, administration and civil society drive the discipline forward, ask crucial questions and constantly provide new impetus. For an inclusive and forward-looking computer science that is orientated towards the common good.

With more than 17,000 individual and 250 corporate members, the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI) is the largest professional society for computer science in the German-speaking world and has been representing the interests of computer scientists since 1969. With 14 specialist areas, over 30 active regional groups and countless specialist groups, the GI is a platform and mouthpiece for all disciplines in computer science.
